"My Old Dog"



This is our dog Sox and she is an old dog. She may look young in the photo but she is really an old dog. She is a very beautiful dog, and gentle with children. She is my guard dog and she knows that’s her job when my husband is out of town. German Shepard’s don’t age well. She has bad joints and has trouble walking and climbing stairs, she will grunt and grown while sleeping and when she goes to get up from her bed. She is really a wonderful dog, old or not!

No place like home

There is just no place like home!!! I love to travel but the best part of traveling is going home.

It's Friday night and I have made it home from my trip to Raleigh, NC. I had some pretty good success with my recruiting the past few days. I found a couple of people that I plan on bringing to our site for a second interview. I just love my job. I love to recruit and interact with people. I wear so many hats in my job it's just amazing, but recruiting is the favorite part of my job. I'm happy it wasn't a wasted trip. I should pat myself on the back.

I did have a pretty good time while I was in Raleigh. I didn't get to see a lot of Raleigh while I was there, most of my time was spent working, but last night I had a few drinks at the bar at the restaurant Bone Fish with my boss and boy did I pay for that this morning. I had a hangover! I haven't had a hangover in such a long time. I forgot how bad it feels. I must say that it was worth it, I really had a great time.

I have a pretty busy day tomorrow. Unfortunately, I have to attend and help support our Family Fun Day at work. UGH! I so don't want to go, but being in HR I have to attend. I just HATE Family Fun Day, I guess because I don't have children and this event is centered around kids and I just can't relate to it. My job tomorrow at the event is to place arms bands on everyone that attends. I'm going to have SO much fun! Our Production department and Maintenance department hold a softball game, It's a hugh deal and a very competitive game. This game will be the high light for me tomorrow.

Traveling Today.............

I'm on my way to Raleigh, NC today to represent the company I work for in a Job Fair. We are doing some serious recruiting. I will be gone for a few days, but I'm sure I will get some time to blog in my spare time. I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

Well, it's been a typical Monday here at work. Although, we have been with out internet all day! Can you believe? I have been having major with draws! It's 4:30 and finally we have internet, right as it's almost time to go home. It's been a very long day at work today.

My weekend went by really fast! It always does, so I guess I should be used to that. My husband was out of town so I was on my own. Saturday, it stormed here. We had some really bad storms so I didn't venture to far from home. I watched some movies Saturday afternoon and then went to JCPenny. I had to get some new luggage for my trip this week. I have to travel again for work this week and needed a new piece of luggage. Sunday, I went to the beach. I just love the beach. It was so nice to layout and get some sun, listen to my iPod, watch the water and people go by. Being at the beach is so relaxing and it takes you to another place. You forget about your everyday life just for a little while. It's FABULOUS!

Now, I'm back to reality, back to work and my everyday routine. At least I'm out of school this week. They have finally given us our Spring Break. Lucky me, I have to spend my Spring Break traveling for work. Happy Monday Everyone!

Training, what a bore!

Could my day have been more boring? I don't think so! I work in a Manufacturing environment and once a year we have Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) training. Talk about the longest day of my life. To get my day started we had to be there at 7 AM this morning, which, by the way, is an hour earlier than I'm used to being to work. So, of course, I was late getting to training and everyone knew it. I was not the only person late for the training but I was the only one any body remembered being late for training. UGH! They then feed us lunch that's so heavy I could have just died. It was good don't get me wrong, but it wasn't food that should have been feed to people while in a BORING training class. It was all I could to do to stay awake after lunch. I couldn't wait for the day to be over. Thank goodness we only do this training once a year. lol!

I'm so exhausted! Getting up an hour earlier and sitting through a boring class just sucked the life right of me. I think I might turn in early tonight, I hope I can stay awake until LOST is over.

A friend, or not?

I have had a friend for over 15 years of my life. I met her not long after I moved to the great state of Florida. I have always thought highly of her and her family. The longer we were friends the more they became like family. She has two wonderful children that I have watch grow into young adults. She has always been there for me, in all the bad times that I had gone through as well as those few good times and vise versa. Needless to say, in the past 15 years I to have grown into an adult and have made something of myself and I am no longer in dire need of her help and assistant. I still need her friendship though. I moved from Central Florida (which is were my friend lives) six years ago. At that time in my life I had experienced one of the most tragic things anyone could experience. I left and moved to North Florida to make a new and fresh start in my life. I did that and now six years later I feel as if my friend is not my friend. I also wonder if she ever really was? I can't share any aspect of my life with her anymore. She doesn't want to hear anything about my life, good or bad. When I try to speak to her about things that are happening in my life she honestly doesn't want to hear it, she will change the subject to something that concerns her. In the past six years she has been to see me maybe four or five times. I have been to see her more times than I can count. I have been feeling like our friendship is one sided and I'm doing all the work. I don't understand why this is happening? I will be honest, this has been going on now for a few years. It started not long after I moved. I wonder if the problem is that I have moved on and made a few of my dreams come true and she is still where she was when I left? I don't know. I have tried everything to keep our friendship alive. If it weren't for me we probably wouldn't even be speaking today. I wonder why I am the only one in our friendship who tries to keep it alive? Can someone honestly be your friend and not want or need to be a part of your life? What would be the point of a friendship then? I often ask myself why I care so much? Why do I keep trying so hard to make our friendship work? I can't do it anymore. I'm tired of not being able to share my life with her. Isn't that what friends are for? To share in our lives and to be there for us no matter what? What kind of a friend doesn't want to share in your life? A true friend would never do this, right? I would never do this to my friends. This is where my question comes in, is she really my friend or not?

It kills me that this is happening. I love my friend dearly as well as her family. There were times in my life if it weren't for her I don't know what I would have done. I have agonized over this for years and I'm so tired of the worrying over it. Should I walk away, or keep trying?

I know that my best friend has heard my complaining about this for a few years now, but you see she's a true friend. She wants to hear what I have to say no matter what. She wants to be a part of my life and I want to thank her for being my TRUE FRIEND! She is so good at listening to me ramble on and on. lol

June 5, 2004. What a great day this was! Me, my bridesmaids and flower girl. When the photographer was taking this picture all I could think of was maybe he had a foot fetish?!?! lol So, when I found out the theme for this weeks photo hunt this was the first thing that came to my mind. That's for bringing back the memories.

Good Friday

It's a work holiday for me today. It's 11:09 am and I have been awake all of an hour and half. I'm working on my fourth cup of coffee, watching the food network and surfing the net. It's such a beautiful day here in Florida today. It's already in the high 70's this morning. It's going to be hot day. I have got to get out of the house today and do something. I think I may do a little shopping in our downtown area. We have a lot of great little shops downtown. I'm also going to the scrapbook store today. I haven't been to Scrapbook Market in a while. I love to shop for scrapbooking supplies.

I hope my best friend Tracy is enjoying here day at work. lol! Love you girl! I just had to give her a hard time this morning. ;-)

I'm out of here for today, I hope everyone has a great Friday and an even better weekend!

Guilty Pleasures

I know, we all have them. Some are much more dynamic and sinful than others, but today my guilty pleasures have to do with food. I have been working out and loosing weight for a year and half. I have lost 35 pounds and every once in a while I give in to some guilty pleasures that I have. I only have a couple and number one on that list is PASTA, any kind of pasta (Italian food) and I'm loving life! lol I found Giada De Laurentiis host of Everyday Italian on the Food Network. Her recipes are healthy versions of Italian food and I'm loving it! It makes eating my guilty pleasure much more enjoyable and I can eat it more often.




Second on my list is CHOCOLATE of course! lol Godiva to be exact.
I am a sucker for some Godiva chocolate. They have the best truffles I have ever eaten. Don't get me wrong, I will eat any of Godiva's chocolates, I'm just addicted to the truffles. I don't eat these often but when I do it sure is worth the workout later on! lol

Typical Monday Morning!

I'm having a bad Monday morning. I have been swamped all morning at work. I can't seem to get enough coffee. I have had more coffee than you can possibly imagine this morning! Today, I could keep Starbucks in business! I'm hoping as my day goes on that I will kick this funk I'm in today. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and I don't normally wake up like that.

I had a wonderful weekend. My best friend and her daughter came to see me and we had a great time! It was wonderful to see them, it had been about 5 months since we had seen each other. We live in two different cities about 2 and half hours from each other. We really should see each other more but with our busy lives it's hard. I just hope she knows how much I love and care about her and the family. ;-)

Pinot Grigio

It's Sunday night and I'm trying to unwind from the weekend. I'm enjoying a glass of my favorite wine; Pinot Grigio. There is nothing like ending a day or weekend no matter how bad or good with a class of your favorite wine. I discovered Pinot Grigio while visiting Italy a few years ago. It a fabulous wine and I have been addicted ever since.
